Fitness studio review featuring SOLIDCORE

One month before my wedding, I wanted to switch up my exercise routine to give myself the ‘best results’ possible. I found solidcore, and took roughly 5 classes, and still noticed killer results for the big day! Recently a studio closer to home opened and I started my solidcore journey again!

Solidcore is basically pilates on steroids. It is a unique, fast paced version of pilates that takes place on a reformer where the music is loud and the lights are dim! The reformer helps create tension and resistance for each exercise. The reformer has the ability to increase or decrease resistance making sure you’ll always find a challenging point! It may be a fast paced class, but they focus on steady, controlled movements. The class starts with a plank/ab series ‘warm up’ which pushes me to my limits and I’m dripping sweat the first 5 minutes of class. The class is a full body work out and becomes more difficult as the class goes on due to muscle fatigue. There is not much of a ‘break time’ because as you’re completing one exercise, the coach is explaining the next exercise you’ll be transitioning too!

After my first class I was sore for 3 DAYS and it was awesome! The first class is the most challenging because it can be confusing using a reformer for the first time. In order to keep up and get the most out of this work out, I would recommend for you to not ‘zone out’ during class! Also, show up early to familiarize yourself with the reformer and for your coach to demo some moves you may be doing during the class. You are barefoot during class, all you need to bring is water! After class, go home and stretch on your own! You are working your muscles the entire class and stretch time is not built in.

It is a little pricey, but they offer a 2 pack new student special and a 10 pack new student special. A class pack is perfect because this isn’t the type of work out you should do daily! You can go 1-2x week and see results FAST. I personally take class once a week or once every two weeks.
